I am currently in the process of earning my master's in Psych. at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I will receive my degree in mid 2016, and then I will move on to become an adjunct professor at UHCL. I also currently tutor at UHCL, where I work with undergrad and grad students in subjects such as Sociology, English, and Writing. Besides my tutoring work at UCHL, I also assist those who have physical or mental disorders. I have 17 years of experience working with people with varying abilities, ranging from proficient to special needs. I am knowledgeable in a number of methods of teaching and am certified as a special needs teacher. I have worked at the Montessori school as well as offered my services as an at-home private tutor. I enjoy tutoring because it is satisfying, fulfilling, and testing. While tutoring students, I am also learning myself. As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to determine what type of method works for my students. From there, I am committed to teaching that student to the best of my and his/her ability. When I am not tutoring or studying, I am working at a horse ranch where I help children with developmental disabilities develop friendships with the horses. I have a green thumb and enjoy the art of cooking. I try to maintain a very active way of life, as it keeps me lively and enthusiastic.
